Wedding Cake???

We will be cruising to Bermuda for a week long wedding celebration.  Our wedding will be held on the beach at Stonehole bay and the reception will follow on the cruise ship.  There will be a rehearsal dinner the night prior to the wedding.  We also plan to have an informal at home reception in September.

Here are the concerns about a traditional wedding cake:

Beach Ceremony:  The only way that we can have a traditional wedding cake on the beach is if it has Fondant icing.  Neither Patrick or I care for Fondant icing.
Cruise Ship Reception Dinner:  All the meals on the cruise ships include a choice of VERY good desserts.
Rehearsal dinner:  This will be held at one of the cover charge restaurants called Cagney's.  They also have a large selection of delicious deserts.
At home Reception:  No issues here.

Bermuda has delicious rum cakes.  There's a shop at the Royal Naval Dockyard called The Bermuda Rum Cake Company.   This is where I had my first taste of Rum Cake.   They have seven different flavors that you can sample.  Mmmmmm.  Each time that we have been to Bermuda we stop there and buy the large Traditional Rum Cake.  Here is a picture from their website:

So here's the plan for each of the events:

Rehearsal dinner:  menu deserts
Beach Wedding:  Bermuda Rum Cake
Cruise ship reception:  menu deserts
At home Reception:  Traditional Wedding Cake

Decision made!!!  :)
